Men's Dress Shirt Refashion #1

Okay, blogging world. I'm back and in full force. Recently life has been pretty hectic and I've been on a little down slope in the creativity department, but that is officially over. I know, I'm excited too. Hopefully I can  dish out a few really awesome projects that everyone can do.

Recently I've made my husband sit down with me and choose clothes that we do/don't want. If there was something Branson tossed out, and I like it, I snatched it up and stuck it in my 'Refashion' pile. There is A LOT of stuff in that pile, but that just means I'll never run out of projects, right? Maybe. Anyway, Branson tossed out this kinda periwinkle-colored men's dress shirt. I was a little appalled at first, because I had my eyes on it since it was given to us, and I didn't want to see it thrown away. Not okay with Miss Bossy Pants here. So I sat down one night and just eye-balled it. There are a few places where I wished I would have done something differently, but there is always another dress shirt. Branson has a million. Overall I'm pretty proud of my shirt. I wore it to the zoo today.

Unfortunately I don't have and pictures of the process while I was making the shirt. I've got another shirt I'm about to start on tonight so I'll take detailed photos of that project and post them here in a few days. I'm super excited. :)

I added lace to the tops of the shoulders, along with a lace pocket on the right side, and lace on the sides at the bottoms to add some girly touches.

The back has a really nice dip that I think balances out the front and back. Gotta have a party for both, ya feel me? No? Okay.

This is my favorite part. Can you get any more girly? Well you could add sparkles, but that's overkill and just plain wrong. No, no, no!

See! Super cute and lightweight. You don't have to chop the sleeves off as much as I did. I think with my next shirt I'll just take the sleeves in a little and make them 3/4 sleeves. Hmmm...
