DIY Fringe Scarf #2

Okay, so I am on a creative high. I spent the last three hours trying to come up with another scarf because I posted my red one on Facebook, and my friends loved it! That's a boost for the creative self esteem. So, in a little bit of a helpful stride, I'm doing another tutorial, a more detailed one I could say, so enjoy!

Guitar Fringe Scarf

Here's an old white shirt, that's kind of stretchy, but not useless. That's the key. Thicker cotton shirts work the best, but if something like this shirt above it all you have, then just be patient. Cut just below the pit, and if you can't cut a straight line that's okay because no one is going to notice when you're done.

The next step was finding a pattern I really liked. I love music more than anything in the world (okay, I love my husband SO much more), and I cut the black portion out so I could just paint over it. I didn't pin it on I just free handed it, and it does slip if you aren't careful. If you want it to look really good, then pin it. Otherwise just go with it.

I picked orange for my color this time instead of cream. Orange is my favorite color! It's just so happy. Note: place paper or a paper bag in your shirt to keep it from leaking through because it will. Trust me. I started the patter in the picture on the left and realized that I wanted more randomness than that. I started just putting them where they would fit, and ta da! Yes, I am drying it with a blow-dryer. I have very little patience.

The fun part is cutting the strips...not really, but hey look how cute this is! It isn't perfect, but it was worth it! Once you've cut them pull them down and stretch them. This makes it fringe and  hang better when you wear it. Hopefully this one was a little more detailed and now you can try it too!
