I found a fringe scarf tutorial on Pinterest and I wanted to give it a go! So I found an old maroon t-shirt, and cut it like so:
I only cut the long side at first, but I didn't like the look it gave, so I cut the top, but only half as long as the bottom strips. I also cut the strips at different widths so it gave it more diversity. Then I cut out star patterns.
I placed them randomly, and I tried to pick three different sizes. I just grabbed some paint I found around my house, it's a cream, but in pictures it looks white.
I like how some of the paint went on thinner than the rest. It just makes it look vintage to me.
This is the end result! Some of the paint leaked through onto the inside, but I don't really care. I like it. If you don't want that then you can let the paint dry really well and then go in and paint the stars on the inside.
