2021 Monthly Sewing Series

Welcome to a new year, my friends! While I’m happy 2020 is over, I don’t have incredibly high hopes for 2021 being much better. I do, however, want to focus on creativity more than ever this year. We now have two adorable kiddos to occupy the majority of our time, but I decided I was going to do a year long series of sewing and refashioning, to occupy the rest of it. Hence the monthly sewing series!

You have no idea how excited I am to get this show on the road. Some of the projects are really out of my comfort zone fashion wise. Others I’m obsessed with. Maybe you can guess which is which as the year progresses.

Why a year long series? I am not a goal maker. Goals overwhelm me, and to be perfectly honest, I am not the most dedicated person when it comes to personal growth. It just isn’t my cup of tea. This is a way for me to try setting a goal and actually stick to it, because I feel I can manage.

Here’s what I’m thinking: one fashion type sewing project a month. That gives me the chance to take my time to make the item as detailed as I need, without the stress of a time limit. I’m hoping this will eliminate the stress I tend to put on myself to push something out as fast as possible. No one wants to burn out that fast.

So that’s the plan! What do you think? I hope you stick around to see what we create this year. Follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook so you don’t miss any of the projects.
