Making The Best of Small Spaces

We really underestimated the amount of space we were losing when we moved into this new building. I think it's mostly because we didn't see our new apartment until the day we moved in.

While we have often found ourselves scratching our heads in thought, we've managed to create a space we feel really comfortable with. We will continue to work on our bedroom and our office, but until then, this 'great room' (as I like to call it) will have to do.

Compared to our last apartment, the cabinet space in this place is off the charts extreme. The leather love seat we were fortunate to buy from my grandparents, along with the new ottoman. The wicker basked underneath the ottoman actually has a little golf-tee game, and all our remotes to the TV and DVD player. They're accessible, but not out in the open. Our gas stove is so stinking tiny! Funny story, I was actually quite intimidated by that for the first three weeks we lived there. Now I can't imagine my life without it. Next year we are going to really deck out this patio area. I'm thinking of a nice table and chairs so we can eat outside in the summer. Also, the university puts on a fantastic fireworks show that we can see from our patio. Plans for an outrageous BBQ are in the works for the next 4th of July.

*Today I'm grateful we are able to live in such a great little community. I love Utah State!
