I wasn't going to post today because I was under the crazy delusion it was the weekend. My days blur together. This week has been one filled with ups and downs. On Monday, our little Buford (our Kia), decided he didn't want to drive anymore that day, so we had to leave him in the middle of the grocery store parking lot while we walked home. 2 miles and a little snow in the evening didn't kill anyone did it? Oh, wait, I faintly recall something about people crossing the plains--needless to say I couldn't feel a single part of my body when we got home. We have been stranded at our little apartment since then, hence why there have been so many tutorials up on the blog this week. How else do you pass the time?
Now that our car is fixed and running, and we have stuffed ourselves with Mexican food, I'm ready to show you my super easy refashion for today. I know it's late. I'm not Wonder Woman, ya know.
1. I flipped the dress inside out, guesstimated how much I wanted to take in, and then pinned a pathway. Notice the pins don't run all the way down the dress. I cut the bottom of the dress off about that point.
2. Sew in place.
3. Cut off the excess fabric, leaving 1/4 inch-1/2 inch seam allowance. Then serge or zig-zag those raw edges.
4. For the sleeves and bottom of the shirt, I rolled the fabric over twice, pinned in place, and then stitched away to my heart's content.

It was a super quick refashion, only taking me about 25 minutes. I left the shirt pretty long, but that's mostly because I have a fear of super short shirts.
Note: if I'm making extra cheesy smiles, you can thank Branson for that. He kept running around me in circles snapping pictures. What a ham, eh?
