Earlier this week Branson and I ventured down to my parents house for a few days. I love spring break, especially when it is so gorgeous outside! Just look at this view we had at the park today. Mother Nature will probably decide to snow on us now that I've shared how lovely it is. She's rude like that.
While we were visiting we stopped by my grandparent's place. Of course I picked up a huge sack full of clothing they didn't want anymore. They are pretty classy people, and they take really good care of everything they own. When I saw the bountiful gift they placed in my arms, I was over the moon. Keep an eye out for men's polo shirt refashions. I picked up about 6 of those.
In the pile sat this little sweater. I loved the color, just not the stain (the only stain, I point out I have ever seen on their clothing). Lengthwise this sweater fit like a glove, but it sort of gave the impression that I had bat wings. So of course that needed to be remedied.
I pinned where I wanted to take the shirt in, curving around the armpit and out towards the sleeves.
Then I cut off the excess material, leaving about 1/4 inch seam allowance. Then I zig-zag stitched over the raw edges.
Now that the shirt flattered my figure more, I needed to tackle that stain. I remembered a post a saw awhile back. So I thought I'd give it a ago. I drew out the word 'love' in cursive. Then I cut it out, pinned it to the felt, and cut that out as well. Following that I placed it over the stain and sewed it in place.
