Corduroy Pants Fairytale

Once upon a time, these white corduroy pants lingered in the shadows, haunting the other pieces of clothing. They dreamed of being young again. "Who on earth would want to wear corduroy? This isn't the 90's anymore!" After many nights of loneliness, the pants called out "I want to be young again! I want to be useful!" Hearing the pleas, a snazzy fairy godmother fluttered down to the pants.

"Honey," she said, reaching for her scissors, "you ain't seen nothing yet."

She snipped away at this...

and this...

She sewed up the the two raw edges, giving the pants some curves.

"I'll just make you a little shorter," she said. "Men love short skirts."

From the magical land of notions and fabrics, the fairy godmother summoned this large pile of lovely trim.

Around the bottom of the skirt it went.

Finally, after much perspiring and a pricked finger or two, the pants lived to see a new day! They felt young, carefree, and full of life. And the pants lived happily ever after.

The End

******

Okay, guys, I'm hilarious. Rather than write a super boring post about how I did this refashion, I thought we would spice it up again. I like spicy. Plus I wanted to be a fairy godmother for a few minutes (crossing that off my bucket list). Anyway, to be honest I wasn't positive this skirt would actually work. So I didn't make a real tutorial, hoping I wouldn't have to post it if I failed. Turns out I actually love it! It's so bright and ready for the spring and summer months.

  1. My, oh, my! Doesn't it just look fantastic! Those pants looked dreadful when you started, but afterwards, they held an edge of splendor and sexiness, ready for anyone to look stunning in. Nice work! Oh and I love the story from the perspective of a Fairy Godmother.
