I don't like to celebrate my birthday. You're probably thinking 'That means this post is pointless'. Normally, you'd be right.
Not today, my friends.
My new obsession is perfume. I can't always dress up in the clothes that show my personality that day, but when I splash myself with different scents, I am a completely different person. To me, it's a new found freedom in a rather restricted life (don't worry, I'm getting back to the birthday part...after a few more things).
For the most part I wear three different scents.
I wear Evidence to important functions. I took this with me to Texas a few weeks ago for my sister-in-law's mission farewell, and I kept getting SO many compliments about how good I smelled. I think this perfume is pretty strong, so just a few drops goes a long way, but it is worth it.
This is my go-to perfume for everyday use. I feel playful and refreshed when I wear this scent. Normally I have a hard time getting up and going in the morning, but after I get dressed and I apply this, I feel like an Angel. Pun totally intended.
When I have interviews or I just need to feel a little more empowered, I use Queen, by Queen Latifha. This is a rather strong perfume, so a little goes a long, long way, but you can't go wrong with this. And lets be honest, this makes me feel kinda sexy. I'm not ashamed to admit, I wear this especially when I want to feel sexy.
For my birthday (see, I totally brought myself full circle), Branson bought me Katy Perry's new perfume, Killer Queen. You guys, this is the best smelling perfume I have ever had the privilege to spray on myself. I can't even begin to tell you what this did to my spirits. First I went through this stage of 'Oh my gosh I smell amazing!', and it progressed to this feeling that I could do anything I wanted. Why? Because I'm a Killer Queen. I feel flirty, sexy, and empowered beyond belief. My husband agrees that this is the most amazing perfume ever. It will be my favorite for years to come, and if for some reason this is canceled...I'm buying as much as I can.
I guess I can handle my birthday this year. In fact, I think this is the only birthday gift that I will talk about for years to come. Well done, Branson. Well done. :)
