Recently my mother in law gave me some gorgeous fabric. I don't think it's a secret that I love fabric, but what I think might be a quiet secret is my love of receiving fabric. That's all I want for my birthday, Christmas, anniversary, etc. Some women want chocolate and flowers, but not me. Give me the cloth and I'm a happy camper.
I used the gifted fabric to make the shirt below. It's more of a low-waisted peplum, and I actually really like it! That area is normally not an area I like to draw attention to, seeing as it's the roundest part of my body, but this shirt flatters it! Don't you think? For the base of the piece I used two old pattern pieces and adjusted the length, also adding on the large peplum bottom. The entire process from start to finish: 1 hr 15 min.
(Yes, a mirror selfie. I'm ashamed of myself.)
Lets talk about this braid. You guys! I am obsessed! I'm not a super big fan of Frozen (mostly because of how annoyingly popular it is), but this braid has been on my mind since I walked out of the theatre. I had to wait for my hair to grow long enough to try it, and that time is now!
Also, that lipstick is from Covergirl's Star Wars collection. Look for a review coming soon! Hint: I am obsessed.
I've been on a little tutorial hiatus, but hopefully that will be remedied shortly!
Today I am grateful for...tender mercies, and little moments that work out and fit together unexpectedly. Sometimes I'm in awe of the bigger picture in store for me.
