Practice, Practice, Practice!

Hey everyone! I originally planned to share this piece in the Pimp My Wardrobe series I have going on. But after working on it for quite some time...I think I'm going to leave it out of that group. The reason being, I want these pieces to be well constructed, professional looking garments. This one turned out cute, but I probably won't wear it more than a few times. Some people might think it's a waste of fabric and time, but I view it as practice. And while I am firmly against the phrase "practice makes perfect", I will stand by my version "practice makes improvement". Seems a bit more realistic to me. So instead of showing you all the steps, and there are many because I couldn't decided how to do it! To quote my favorite novel, "I imagine things I am powerless to execute." (If you name that without looking it up, I'll give you a high five...from the computer of course!)

I also want you to remember that this wardrobe redo is mainly for my benefit as a seamstress. I created this year long series to document my growth, and to also prove to myself that I can do anything I set my mind to. This shirt just happens to be a learning curve, and I can't just show you the highs. I'll dish out a low too.

What do you think? Not my favorite, but it will inspire me to create again!!

Today I am thankful for...trial and error.
