I'm behind on the thanksgiving posts, since the glorious holiday was indeed yesterday. As you all know, a few months back I started trying to post something I am thankful for at the end of my blog posts. Not only does it help me to reflect on the things during my day/week, it also gives me the chance to express my thanks and gratitude so you all can see it. At times we forget how important giving thanks is. Our lives are a constant whirlwind of ups and downs, so it's pretty normal to forget to share your gratitude. That's pretty sad, though.
For those of you who find it difficult to express your gratitude, keep a little piece of paper next to your bed or in your wallet. Whenever you come across something you're grateful for, write it down. Another option would be to fill a jar full of little scraps of paper with items, people, material possessions, etc, that you are thankful to have in your life. Start small, and eventually you'll realize just how incredibly blessed you truly are.
I'm thankful for my immediate family, and the family I married into. (The day before Thanksgiving, my sister-in-law gave birth to a sweet little girl. To say that our hearts were full that day would be an understatement). I'm thankful to be a daughter, sister, wife, friend, aunt, neighbor, whatever I am! I'm thankful for my trials; they inspire me to become a better person. I'm thankful for my friends who constantly show love and kindness to anyone. I'm thankful for all my blessing, which I could list, but don't you think that post would turn into a bragging contest more than a list of gratitudes? I think it would.
Wherever you are in the world, Reader, I'm also thankful for you. You make writing this blog worth every frustrating minute. You're wonderful!
