It's only Tuesday, and I am ready to be done with the week. That's just how amazing life is right now. So, in order to really boost my spirits, I thought I'd share a few quick pictures of what I've been busy working on lately: my sewing room.
Currently I'm waiting to pick up a table from my parent's, and once I have that and the finishing touches complete, I'll be sewing my bum off for the rest of the year.
The small closet is now being used to hold all my current clothing projects. I originally wanted a clothing rack from Ikea, but I'm poor, so we are making what space we have more useful. The teal bowls I picked up at Hobby Lobby, painted the insides a bluegrass teal color, and then went over the inside with Modge Podge. Now they hold all my sewing supplies like scissors, measuring tapes, tailor's chalk, pencils, and paintbrushes.
The three little white bowls were originally used for food. I had random types of chocolates and ribbon candy from Christmas in them, until I realized how perfect they would be to hold pins, needles, safety pins, seam rippers, and little hook and eyes. What I really love about these bowls is when I'm sewing, I can pick up the bowl with the supplies I will need the most, and bring it to the table where I'm working on my project. And when I have finished my project, they sit right back in their little wooden tray, making cleaning up a breeze.
